Frequently Asked Questions

WHY DO YOU CHARGE A $10 FEE FOR THE TOUR?
This is probably the number one question we get. In past tours, it is mostly other demonstrators who visit our blogs. While it’s wonderful to have their comments and encouragement, we want to attract some potential customers and recruits to the blogs. For that reason, we take the $10 fee and advertise to a wider audience.

HOW DO I PAY THE ENTRY FEE?
Once you register, our Treasurer, Karen Sullivan, will invoice you for this fee. Upon receipt of payment, you will be officially registered in the tour. You will then hear from your Princess Assistant (PA) with further instructions. Please do not email us asking for further information. Just be patient and it will all come to you. However, if after 3 days you haven’t heard from your PA, email us at info@theroyalblogtour.net Marisol Gutierrez is the head of the PAs.

WHEN DO I PICK OUT MY STAMP SET?
Once you have enrolled and been contacted by your PA, you will receive an email from the Secretarial Department. A Secretarial Assistant (SA) will be assigned to you, and she will direct you to our website where you will fill out a form for choosing your stamp set. Please do not do this until you hear from your SA. Tammy Fite is the head of the SAs.

WHY IS THE STAMP SET I WANT NOT AVAILABLE?
There are no duplicates allowed on the tour. Once a stamp set has been picked, it becomes unavailable. That is why your SA will urge you to make your choices ASAP to avoid disappointment.

HOW MANY SAMPLES SHOULD I MAKE?
You can make as many samples as you wish, but you may have only six photos.

SHOULD I MAKE NEW SAMPLES FOR EACH DAY OF THE TOUR?
No, you should make one set of samples for all four days of the tour. You are not allowed to make other posts during the tour unless they are pre-dated to before the tour launch. Doing this assures that your RBT post always remains at the top during the four-day tour.

DO THE SAMPLES HAVE TO BE MADE BY ME OR CAN I HAVE SOMEONE ELSE MAKE MY DESIGNS?
The person who has signed up to be a Blog Tour Princess must be the sole originator of the design.

FROM WHERE DO THE STAMP CHOICES COME?
The sets listed in the database come from all current catalogs. The elements you use must be Stampin’ Up current products.

HOW MANY STAMP SETS MAY I FEATURE?
You may choose ONE current stamp set to feature. If you need other stamps to round out your project, you may use them, but you can’t claim them as your featured stamp set.

WHY ARE YOU LIMITING ME TO ONE FEATURED STAMP SET?
There are 78 blogs on this tour. If we allowed you to reserve 3 or 4 sets, it may mean others will not get their choice of stamp sets. By limiting you to one FEATURED stamp set, it allows others to have a chance at their favorite stamps as well.

WHY HAVEN’T I BEEN ASSIGNED A TOUR AND STOP NUMBER?
Once we put you into a tour and give you a stop number, it becomes more difficult if we have to make switches. As a result, we find keeping everyone in one fluid database gives us flexibility if we have to make last minute changes (and we always do have last minute changes). It is also less confusing for you because you won’t even be aware of the changes!

CAN I OFFER BLOG CANDY?
Yes! You can feature Blog Candy during the tour! The RBT website will carry a special form where you will register your blog candy. One of your requirements must be: “Email me with your name and email address.” Many Princesses do not make arrangements to contact the winner, and with 78 blogs, most travelers don’t remember your blog.  We'd like to stress that you may NOT make "purchasing" part of your Blog Candy requirements in any way.  The Royal Blog Tour is not to be used for personal sales or profit. Your SA will contact you with further instructions when it’s time to input your blog candy offer.

CAN I OFFER TUTORIALS?
While we all love the tutorials, a blog tour is a bad time to offer one. Tutorials are not allowed during the tour. That means that if you offer tutorials, they should not be placed in such a way as to attract attention because they’ve been placed near your RBT projects. This is not a time for our own commercial pursuits; this is a gallery of talented people who are sharing their creativity. We suggest you invite visitors back for a fabulous tutorial the day AFTER the blog tour. In fact, you can even offer a tutorial on the samples you made for the tour. In this way, you will give travelers a reason to visit your blog again.

CAN I SHOW MY CARD RECIPE?
Yes, you can show the recipe without instructions. You can also display a picture of the stamp set you are using. If you don't know how to capture the picture from the catalog, ask your CT to assist you.

WHERE DO THE TOURS START?
All tours start from the RBT website at http://www.theroyalblogtour.net. All six tour paths will be listed on this page. It means if there is a broken link, a rider can go back to the website to pick up the tour. They may also return to this page to ride additional tours.

WHERE CAN I GET INFORMATION AND HAVE QUESTIONS ANSWERED?
Your first stop should be the Princess blog. If you can’t find the answer there, contact your PA and ask for her help. If she doesn’t know the answer, she’ll find out who does.

WHY HAVEN’T I HEARD FROM MY PA, CT AND/OR SA?
This is a very large tour, and it takes time to get assignments to our various team members. If you have just signed up, it may take a day or even two days before you hear from your PA. If it has been longer than that, please email info@theroyalblogtour.net and let us know you haven’t been contacted.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY PA?
Your PA is your “tour pal” who will maintain contact with you and direct you when needed. Your PA is the person you contact when you have a question or a problem that isn’t answered on the Princess blog. If she can’t help you, she’ll find someone who can. She will give you instructions for keeping on track during the time leading up to the tour; she does this through a weekly email that goes out every Friday. In order to avoid losing your castle, you must respond to her email by the following Wednesday. If she doesn’t hear from you, it will be a cause for concern. So if you plan to be away and unable to respond to any particular email, let your PA know that. Failure to respond puts your castle on the RBT in jeopardy.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY CT?
Your CT uploads to your blog ads, headers, footers and all links. You will not have to do any of that; it’s all done for you. This avoids broken links and links that don’t work. Heather Wright Porto is the head of the CTs, as well as the Webmaster.

MAY I FEATURE A HOSTESS SET?
Absolutely, as long as it is available!

MAY I OFFER A PDF DOWNLOAD OF DIRECTIONS FOR SOMETHING LIKE A TEMPLATE?
Sorry, the answer to this one is “no”. There are a lot of stops on these tours. If your stop requires someone to do something that takes more time than just looking at the blogs, it holds up the tour. We suggest you tell people to come back after the tour and there will be something wonderful for them to download.
