Princess Guidelines

Welcome to the final week of the Royal Blog Tour pre-launch!

We are only one week away from launch! All your hard work these past eight weeks will culminate in an exhilarating four days. I hope you’ve had fun during this warm-up period. Here are some last minute reminders.

Your drafts must be uploaded Friday, October 29th by 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Remember, if your projects are not uploaded by 9:00 p.m. EST, your castle will be dropped. Please, be sure your draft is up by that time. If you need help in knowing how to post and schedule your project, contact your CT for assistance. Be sure you schedule your post to go live on Thursday, November 4 by 9:00 p.m. EST.

On Thursday, November 4th, the CTs will go in and install headers and footers on the blogs. At that time, your castle number and path will be assigned. You don’t have to worry about posting that information as it will be in the header. IMPORTANT: Be sure you set your post to go live by 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is imperative because the CTs have to check the links. Some blog platforms allow you to schedule this ahead of time. I already have my post scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, just to be on the safe side.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:

1. You may have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 pictures (ten for Honorary Queens) on your blog.

2. Important: Absolutely no tutorials are allowed on this tour.

3. Linking to other pages or websites is not allowed.

4. You may not upload new projects during the tour unless you pre-date the posts so that they appear below the Tour post. The RBT header, footer and post must remain at the top of your blog during the entire tour.

5. You may not be on another tour simultaneous to the Royal Blog Tour.

6. You may not post designs and projects made by anyone but yourself.

7. If you offer Blog Candy, one of your requirements must be that participants email you their name and email address. You may not require someone to either buy from you or subscribe to your blog.

UPCOMING DEADLINES:

• Project Draft Upload: Friday, October 29th by 9:00 p.m. EST

• Go Live: Thursday, November 4th, by 9:00 p.m. EST

Have a great week.

Week #6, Reminders

Welcome to week six of the Royal Blog Tour pre-launch!  Thank you again for your cooperation during this preparation time.

As of today, all immediate deadlines have passed.  Now is the time to really strategize and plan your projects.  We all seem to do better when we allow enough time to complete our projects, don’t we?

Once we get to that final week before the launch, things really start to heat up.  Remember, your projects must be completed one week before launch.  The draft upload will take place on the Friday before the tour, October 29th.  If your projects are not uploaded by 9:00 p.m. EST, your castle will be dropped.  Please, be sure your draft is up by that time.  You can certainly put it up before then, just make sure it is up in time for the CTs to go in and look at it.  I can’t stress the importance of this step enough.

In the meantime, I hope you’ve been promoting the Jester Games on your blogs.  These are fun pastimes that keep the RBT in the forefront of people’s thoughts, so be sure to send your readers to http://www.theroyalblogtour.net/p/jester-game.html. We are also posting on Facebook and Twitter currently.  And remember, after this week, a special ad will be posted on your blog that will bring people directly to the “Path” page on the first day of the tour.

Last week, I told you that “Cherry Cobbler” was one of the path names.  This week, I’ll let you in on another of the path names:  “Daffodil Delight!”

UPCOMING DEADLINES:
Project Draft Upload: Friday, October 29th by 9:00 p.m. EST
Go Live: Thursday, November 4th, by 9:00 p.m. EST

Don’t forget to respond to this email by Wednesday, October 20th!  Have a great week.  See you around the “Kingdom!”

Three Weeks to Launch

Week 5, Reminders

Welcome to week five of the Royal Blog Tour pre-launch!  The cooperation during this tour has been outstanding.  You’ve made our jobs so much easier.  It’s been a pleasure to work with you.  The only deadline still looming is for blog candy on October 15th.  Remember, whether you’re offering blog candy or not, you must fill out the blog candy form.  If you’re not offering it, all you have to do is check that box.

Hopefully, you’ve continued to give attention to your projects.  Let me once again urge you not to wait until the last minute to begin work on your projects.  Did you think over the points I gave you last week?  Hopefully, you’ve spent some time thinking about these points and maybe sketched out some ideas.  If you have MDS, it is a great tool for doing preliminary design work.

Have you been reading the interviews on the Princesses?  You can find them on the home blog at http://www.royalblogtour.blogspot.com/.  The Honorary Queen interviews are going up one per week on the website at http://www.theroyalblogtour.net/

Would you like to know the name of one of the Paths for the tour?  It may end up being the path you’ll be on!  One of the names is “Cherry Cobbler Path”

UPCOMING DEADLINES:
Blog Candy Deadline: October 15th by 9:00 p.m. EDT
Project Draft Upload: Friday, October 29th by 9:00 p.m. EDT
Go Live: Thursday, November 4th, by 9:00 p.m. EDT

Don’t forget to respond to your email!  Have a great week.  See you around the “Kingdom!”

FOUR WEEKS UNTIL LAUNCH!

Week #4, Reminders

Welcome to week four of the Royal Blog Tour pre-launch!  Thanks for all your cooperation.  Things are progressing as scheduled, and by now you have your stamp set chosen, your interview questionnaire completed (if you are participating), and you have been contacted regarding blog candy for the tour.  Deadline for blog candy is October 15th.  That’s your last deadline for a little while, so you can take a deep breath!  Whew!

Now is the time to start thinking about your project.  Please don’t wait until the last minute to start thinking about what you’re going to do.

Have you decided on a layout for your projects?
Do you have a color scheme in mind?
Do you know how many projects you’re going to make?  Remember, you may make as many projects as you like, but you must post a minimum of two photos and a maximum of 6 photos only.

Spend some time thinking about these questions.  Write down your thoughts, and perhaps sketch out some of your ideas.  If you spend a little time thinking about it now, you will find yourself more relaxed and able to enjoy the tour when it comes time to launch.  If you’d like to share your ideas with me, I’d love to hear what you have in mind.  Whatever you decide, don’t forget to respond to this email.

UPCOMING DEADLINES:
Blog Candy Deadline: October 15th by 9:00 p.m. EDT
Project Draft Upload: Friday, October 29th by 9:00 p.m. EDT
Go Live: Thursday, November 4th, by 9:00 p.m. EDT

FIVE WEEKS UNTIL LAUNCH!

Week #3, Reminders

This week we have a few deadlines coming up.

1.    The wait list now has 8 princess-in-waiting, and registration for the wait list has been closed.
2.    Today, September 24, 2010, is the deadline for interview submission.
3.    It is also today that your stamp set must be chosen and listed in the database; the only exception is for those on the wait list, who have until Monday, September 27th to choose their set.
4.    You must fill out the blog candy information by October 15th.  Go online at http://www.theroyalblogtour.net/p/blog-candy-registration.html whether you are offering blog candy or not.  Remember, the first requirement is "Email me with your Name and Email Address."  This is a mandatory requirement. If you’re not offering blog candy, just check the box that indicates that and you’ll be done with the form!
5.    Your project upload is October 29th at 9:00 p.m. EST.  Your project must be uploaded by that time, or you’re castle will be eliminated from the tour.  This is A crucial deadline, so it is important for you to think about doing the following things:

  •     Give some thought to how many projects you plan to do for the tour.
  •     Start to research some ideas
  •     Draw a preliminary sketch or sketch it out on MDS
  •     Start thinking about your color combinations
All of the points above will start you on the path to getting your projects ready.  It is important not to leave everything to the last minute because you never know what may come up at the last moment.  Our experience has been that many times people have to drop out at the last moment because an emergency has come up, and they don’t have their projects prepared.  This creates problems for them and for us.   Next week, we’ll be asking for what you’ve done in preparation for your projects.  Use the points above to think about your project.

Once again, if you have any questions, let your PA know and she’ll direct you to the right department if it doesn’t fall under her duties.  Have a great week!

SIX WEEKS UNTIL LAUNCH!!

Week #2, Reminders

Welcome to the first full week of RBT Prep!

1.      By now, your stamp choice should be made and confirmed.  We hope you got your first choice!  If you haven’t chosen a stamp set, the deadline for this is September 24th.  If you don’t have a chosen set by then, you will be in danger of losing your castle! If you didn’t get an email from your SA regarding choosing a set, let me know.  NOTE:  If you are on the Wait List, you’ll make your choices now as well. Your SA will contact you with instructions.
2.      You have also probably heard from your EA (Editorial Assistant) by now, requesting an interview with you.  It is great to have your picture and pictures of your projects featured on this page, so I hope you take advantage of this opportunity.  The deadline for responding to the interview questionnaire is October 1st.  If you didn’t hear from your EA, let your PA know.
3.      Remember, management will communicate with the entire group through the Princess Roster Yahoo group.  As a reminder, do not discuss anything tour-related in any of the LNS groups, or anywhere else for that matter.  The inner workings of the tour are Top Secret!
4.      Please remember to subscribe to the Princess Blog.  FAQs are here as well as a summation of the PA email you get every week.   If for some reason you don’t receive an email from your PA every Friday, the information will be on this blog.  If you don’t receive an email by Friday, please contact your PA.  Sometimes emails fall into cyberspace!  And be sure to take a look at the tab labeled “Princesses” because you’ll find your name and blog listed there.  It is also on the Home Blog.

Once again we remind you of the importance of responding to this email.  If you have no questions or problems, simply hit “Reply All” and write “Email Received” in the subject line.

SEVEN WEEKS UNTIL TOUR LAUNCH!

WEEK #1 Reminder
Welcome to the Royal Blog Tour. During this first week you will hear from you PA (Personal Assistant) for the upcoming Fall 2010 Royal Blog Tour. She will act as your liaison to the tour, helping you along the way. To start, here is some very important information you should keep as a reference.

  1. You should have received a Word Document that outlines the rules and guidelines like those you found on the registration form. Please read these carefully and keep them in an easily accessible place. It is important for you follow the information exactly or your castle on the tour could be put in jeopardy.
  2. You will be asked for an interview by the Editorial Staff and have your picture and projects featured on our home blog. This is voluntary, but we need to know which option you choose. You should hear from your Editorial Assistant (EA) within the next few days. Deadline for interviews is October 1st.
  3. The Secretarial Department will issue you an invitation to the Princess Roster Yahoo group. Please join this group immediately. It is how we communicate with you during the tour. Any questions or requests regarding the current tour should be written only in this group. Please do not discuss the tour in any other groups, such as the Blog Tour group or LNS in general.
  4. Subscribe to this blog, the Princess Blog, which is set up for current Princesses on the tour. The URL is http://princessroyalblogtour.blogspot.com/.You will find FAQ’s on this blog, as well as a repetition of the information you get in my emails.
  5. A member of the Secretarial Staff will contact you regarding your stamp choice, and they will give you instructions on what to do. Your choice must be made no later than Friday, September 24th. Tammy Fite is the Secretarial VP and her email is stampinmama@comcast.net.
  6. Finally, and this is very important, you must respond to my Friday emails by Wednesday of the next week. If you have no questions, hit “Reply All” and simply write “Email Received” in the subject line. If your PA does not get a response from you by the following Wednesday, you will be in danger of losing your castle, so please take a moment and follow these quick steps to acknowledge you received the PA email.  Be sure you put your PA in your contacts (email contacts) so PA emails don’t end up as spam. If you don’t receive a Friday email for some reason, let the PA department know right away.

Remember, your PA is there to assist you during this tour, so please let her know if you have any questions or concerns. If she doesn't know the answer, she will find someone who does. And most of all ~ have fun on this wonderful tour!
